Director of Production

YOU: You are an experienced producer, well-connected and charismatic, with a keen eye for stellar creative work, and a way with words that entices your audience.

THEM: They are a NYC Experience Design Studio specializing in interactive media experiences and responsive storytelling environments, empowering leading brands, architects, and artists with their installations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the company-wide planning and scheduling of project activity, with responsibility for balancing project P&L, resources and commitments in support of overall business objectives
• Manage and mentor a team of producers and project managers, with responsibility for their training, professional development, career satisfaction, and growth
• Oversee all aspects of production for client projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest possible standards
• Liaise with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and effective collaboration 
• Collaborate with sales team in their development of project budget and timelines during the pitch and sales process
• Cultivate and maintain network of project resources, freelancers, vendors and partners. 
• Negotiate scope and value of subcontracted project resources 
• Create, maintain, and ensure adherence to the project management process from startup through execution and close out
• Plan and implement departmental staffing, and conduct hiring interviews to fill vacancies

REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience producing large scale multi-disciplinary projects within a design, technology, or creative professional service context
• Curious, empathic and strategic thinker able to understand and align the aspirations and needs of internal and external stakeholders
• Able to articulate the value of the work to project clients and partners. 
• Familiar in the world of design, technology, contemporary arts, and culture
• Demonstrated effectiveness in identifying, cultivating and retaining talented humans
• Based on the information that has been provided to You & Them by our Client, the salary range for this position is $150K – 165K
